I recently signed up for Ship 30 for 30, a cohort based Digital Writing course.
Here are a few reasons why:
I've been meaning to write consistently on the internet since 2012 (yikes, but the next best time is now). My first piece of content was some video game Youtube commentary back in 2010 and my first blog post was in 2012. Had I stayed consistent in my creation habit, I'd be a multi-millionaire. But who knew about the creator economy in 2010?
The community based approach with tools such as TypeShare templates and accountability that comes from shipping something everyday is the main framework of structure I need in my busy life. Ship30's bite sized lessons are also easy to digest daily.
The most important one. The written word is the most basic form of creation. Writing daily will enable me to develop my voice, test out ideas quickly and open up future networking, employment and educational opportunities. Good writing requires practice, and it's all reps. So I'm putting the reps in.
Over the next 30 days, I plan on writing about Software Engineering Careers, Content Creation lessons learned, the world changing scope of Artificial Intelligence tools and anything else that comes up.
Join me on this adventure—and let me know if you have any questions along the way! I'm @farezv everywhere.
